Facial lines are caused by the repeated use of the facial muscles in a particular manner. Just as a freshly ironed shirt will become severely creased at, for example, the elbow by bending the arm, so likewise our facial lines form wherever we frown, squint or smile.
 
Lines can be softened, or in some cases erased, by means of "filler injections", but whilst these can be very effective here the EFFECT is being treated rather than the CAUSE.
 
The Hibernation Treatment is different in that it is a PREVENTATIVE treatment. Injections are given, usually in the forehead or around the eyes, which temporarily put the muscles to sleep for a period of 3 - 4 months. This freezing is always temporary and can never be permanent; this is why the treatment is called " The Hibernation Treatment", as the muscles temporarily hibernate. The forehead then appears at peace, with existing lines softening because the muscles are completely relaxed.
 
The aim is to break the habit of deep frowning, and allow the muscles to "forget" how to frown. Usually a course of injections over a year or two is required to break the frowning habit.
 
Treatment takes only a few minutes, and is quite comfortable. Results show within 5 - 7 days.
